The ‘Ann’ Magnolia is a hybrid cross between Magnolia liliiflora ‘Nigra’ and Magolia stellata ‘Rosea’ bred at the National Arboretum in the mid-1950s.
Best grown in rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Plant in a location protected from strong winds, and avoid warm southern exposures which may lead to early bud opening in spring.
